Oregon Coast

The first week of June, Jerid and I and his family took a great trip to the coast. The weather was aweful and I wished that I saw the sun a few more hours each day, but we enjoyed it all the same. Jerid and I were more than anxious to get off work and school and spend some time together. Unfortunately for Jerid, he spent a lot of time studying and taking tests while I relaxed and watched movies and played with the kids.

We took our little Millie for her first visit to the ocean, which she was scared to death of. I'm not sure if she was scared of the water or scared of the freezing cold temperature. I'm sure it was the cold, we were all goose-bumped out most of the time. Jerid burried her during her afternoon nap in the sun.... she was so sad when she woke and realized she couldn't move.... haha...... my husband's a trickster.
The second day we were there, Tim, Jerid's Dad, took us on a Salmon fishing trip that was awesome! We left at 4:25am to get to the ship in time to push off. Once out there, we were fighting these fish like it was the end of the world! I wish I would have taken some pictures of the bruises I had on my body the next day. We also saw whales, sea lions, and the boys saw a blue shark about 18 miles out. It was spectacular! So at the of the day, all in all, we brought home seven beautiful, huge fish to cook up.

This trip was much needed and much appreciated.... I can't wait to do it again next year, I'll cross my fingers.

Britni's Visit

My niece Britni has been staying with us for the last couple of days which has been so much fun. She is here in Utah working for Herbs for Health and spending some summer days with Jerid and I. Millie loves her and gets so excited to see her when she walks through the door each night.

Over the weekend we went on an awesome and eventful hike up American Fork Canyon. It was beautiful up there with millions of beautiful wild flowers that seemed to flow endlessly over the hillsides. We stopped at the park recreation center to ask for advice on a good hike, and the woman told us about Silver Lake. She said it was the most beautiful hike in the canyon but unfortunately, for the sake of Millie, I forgot to ask how long and hard the hike was! Our little Millie got about half way and her legs started giving out. As you can see in the pictures, I started carrying her up the mountain until both Jerid and Britni talked me into turning around. She got me a bit dirty! Poor Millie was so tired and hot! But all and all, we had a great time and a great view.

So, I'm new to this blogging thing, but I can't seem to miss out on all the great photo sharing and story telling that seems to happen in this little community.

Jerid and I have been married a whole whopping 7 months now. Things are GREAT! We are busy as can be with our jobs and Jerids schooling. 10 months and counting for us to be done and moving on to our next adventure. I can't wait until his graduation day. I think we'll have everything packed and ready to leave the minute he walks out of the ceremony. We're crossing our fingers that we'll be in California or Boise.... I want to go home!

We welcomed a new member to our family three weeks ago. Her name is Millie and she is our favorite thing to run home to... and wake up to every morning. She has a fire in her that I didn't know could exsist in such a tiny thing.... she's crazy! But, we love her anyway.
